What’s my EDC?

Hey Jock, do you carry you service weapon off-duty?

Good question. My department issue weapon is a Glock 17 and as much as I do love Glock, it’s not my off-duty EDC (Every Day Carry). I’ve narrowed my EDC down to three particular handguns, all of them 9mm. Here’s what I carry:

Sig P365 - I really like this handgun, out of the box I was driving nails with it. I generally carry the 365 in warmer weather to make concealment easier. It came with two 10 round magazines, one with a pinky extender, that really do help with keeping the print low profile. I stash a twelve round magazine in an old knife pouch on my belt, which makes it look like a multi-tool, for extra lead slinging purposes.

HK VP9B - This handgun is German engineering personified. I’ve had three different versions of the VP9 (VP9/SK/VP9B) but I prefer the VP9B due to the position of the magazine release button, which is on the grip as opposed to the trigger guard on the original VP9. I have a Holosun HE507C green dot sight on it that makes it look very cool.

IWI Jericho 941 FS9 - This Israeli Weapons Industries masterpiece is probably my favorite handgun of all time (bold statement I know). This elegant lady weighs in at almost 2lbs, thanks to a steel frame and a barrel cold hammer forged from the finest Mil-Spec CrMoV steel. Shooting this hottie is a pleasurable experience thanks to the double action feature and smooth trigger reset. Again, out of the box I was driving nails with this beauty so she’ll be a regular feature when I’m out and about.
